The Mylan Classic was a professional golf tournament on the PGA TOUR's Web.com Tour from 2010-2013. It was held annually at Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, PA.

Washington County's Return to Professional Golf
John Swiatek co-founded and worked with Southpointe Golf Club and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce to secure a PGA TOUR sanctioned event on the Web.com Tour played annually from 2010 to 2014. In order to secure a Web.com Tour event from the PGA TOUR a name and title sponsor was required. A multi-year agreement was reached with Southpointe based Mylan Pharmaceutical.
The Mylan Classic was a 72-hole stroke play professional golf event featured 156 players from 19 countries competing for a $675,000 purse. The week featured events such as pro-ams, practice rounds, live entertainment and more all to benefit the community and local charities. It was estimated that during the week of events, Washington County and western Pennsylvania received over $9.0 million in economic impact.
The Mylan Classic established a 501(c) (3) through the Washington County Chamber of Commerce that donated 100% of ticket sales and net operating proceeds to local charities through the ANSYS Tickets FORE Charity program. The Mylan Classic’s revenue stream was generated primarily through corporate sponsorship sales. With Swiatek’s help the Mylan Classic generated over $7.2 million in corporate sponsorship sales, signing sponsorship agreements with Mylan, CONSOL Energy, DICK'S Sporting Goods, Highmark, PNC Bank and others. Over the four years the Mylan Classic generated over $2.2 million for local charities.
In addition to the event's charitable focus, the tournament was distributed to a global audience through the Golf Channel’s international broadcast. Televised in 123 million homes worldwide including 176 countries and territories, and on every continent but Antarctica; the Mylan Classic focused the eyes of the golf world on Washington County while also highlighting the region, its quality of live and the event's economic impact.
